Now check this out other day I was listening to the radio I caught the tail end of a conversation about an article written on how “Detroits” defense could be elite.
I could not understand what they were talking about. The Red Wings are just getting back to playin again so I know it wasn’t them. The Pistons had a terrible year and were a lottery team so it could not have been them. The Tigers are the only Detroit team playing really good now so it had to be them, right?!
Ahh but then again they certainly are not known as a defensive team. On the contrary, they are considered an average defense at best (and that is being generous) they got it going on more on the offensive side. So I did a search for 3 things to see what in the world I was hearing. The 3 words were “elite” “defense” and “Detroit”. Imagine my shock weeks ago when I saw the results saying the article was about the Lions.
It made perfect sense, the Lions defense was good last year and should get better with the draft, thats not what shocked me. What shocked me was how I had been conditioned in the last 50 years or so to only negative articles on the Lions. Ahh yeah the Bobby Lane Curse of 50 years is over.
It actually never occurred to me that the term elite could ever be used to describe the Lions. That being said and watching the games seeing how they came back against elite clubs like the vikings and cowboys setting records being down like 20 points at half time to both and still winning!!!
I believe the curse is finally fading into history. The stage is being set for some very good things, my fellow Detroit Lion's fans get ready.. now I'm talking to the REAL fans that stayed with them through all the pain (rembr 0-16 anyone?) and not jumped ship you know who you are!!! To everybody else yeah cummon and jump on the band wagon you lame panzies!
Anyhow.. something tells me this time it won’t end like the dashed high hopes of the past 50 years. This being said I am optimistic again with this team, please don’t let me down!..lol!!
Of course I'm going to the game to watch my Lions Sunday and Tail-Gating!!

The Detroit Lions Elite?!!.. Yessir The Bobby Lane Curse Is Over!! Thank GOD!!.. Or Is It?
50 years ago a QuarterBack from a small High school in Texas named Bobby Lane lead us (The Detroit Lions) to a championship. Then he was traded for some odd reason to another team and he was really madd about it, he loved it here in Detroit! Kinda like Rick Mahorn was traded from our Pistons after the Bad Boys won their Championship. But thank goodness Big Rick was never bitter and didn't curse us for 50 years!..lol.
Anyhow.. (getting back to the Lions)
In Fact Bobby Lane was so madd he got traded that the whole Lions organization was cursed by him to never succeed again for 50 years without him. And as far as I can see it has worked!!..LOL!!
Well on now to 2011. It's 50 years and another Quarterback has stepped on the scene from the exact same State and High School that Bobby Lane went too named Matt Stafford who was drafted by the Lions.., and he is going to lead us to another championship!! Coincidence??.. Nahh I call it Destiny!!
This team my team has finally got real football guys calling the shots behind the scenes! The curse is over! The Ford's are where they need to be finally in the background as spectators!!
The Pres, The Swartz our coach knows talent to make a long story short this roster is oozing with speedy talented players! People want instant success I say it takes a lil time to build a champion and we are on our way. Lombardi here we come 2012-2014!!
